Overview
The Account Officer will: Ensure all financial accounting is accurate and up to date, and reconciliations of the general ledger and sub ledgers are maintained. Support the company’s commercial team - in maximizing their strategic investment for growth through performance management, decision support, developing business models, strategy formulation and putting strategy into action.
Responsibilities
- Manage all accounting transactions.
- Prepare budget forecasts.
- Publish financial statements in time.
- Handle monthly, quarterly and annual closings.
- Reconcile accounts payable and receivable.
- Ensure timely bank payments.
- Compute taxes and prepare tax returns.
- Manage balance sheets and profit/loss statement

Requirements
- B.Sc / HND in Accounting and Professional Accounting qualification
- Minimum of 2 years post qualifying experience, preferably with Maritime, Engineering, or Oil and Gas company
- Strong accounting fundamentals and good knowledge of tax issues
- Good analytical skills and commercial awareness
- Experience using accounting software and reporting systems
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Packages
